Mitsuho Yoshida (吉田光甫): 1916 -1986

 

Mitsuho Yoshida (Official name: Hiroshi Yoshida) was born at Kyoto in 1916. In 1930, he became a pupil of Sekiya Ukei, studying the art Yuzen dyeing. He became an independent Yuzen dyeing artist in 1936. He was elected to the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition in 1964, and continued to show his work at the same exhibition afterword. He later became a member of Nihon Kogeikai (Japanese Art Craft Association), and won the Excellence Award at the 8th Nihon Kogei Association Dyestuff Exhibition in 1971. He died at home in Shiga prefecture on December 29, 1986 due to myocardial reasons.

日本工芸会正会員の染色作家(手描友禅)吉田光甫は、12月29日心筋こうそくのため滋賀県志賀町の自宅で死去した。享年70。本名弘。大正5年7月23日京都市に生まれる。昭和5年関谷雨溪の門に入り友禅を学び、同11年独立した。戦後の同39年、日本伝統工芸展に初入選し、以後同展に出品、同43年日本工芸会正会員となった。同46年には、第8回日本工芸会染織展で優秀賞を受賞する。
