Maru Obi are double-sided obi and tend to be the heaviest kind. Heavy brocades cover both sides of the obi and the stiffener tends to be a sturdy coutil. These obi are vintage to antique, and range in age from the late Edo Period (1603-1868) to the early Showa Period (1926-1989).
